Sometimes i wonder...

when i have way too much stuff to do / when the pressure is on...is there a more productive use of creative juices than just stressin out about it all and working all tightly wired??

maybe you need to forget about priorities, and just deal with stuff on a just-in-time basis. fuggit, worry about it later. worked alright for dock ellis, a pitcher for the pirates back in the '70's. i've known about this story for awhile but this youtube video has some neat animation that really brings the story to life.

Invincible > your favorite rapper

had to make a post about this mc i just found out about (late pass already accepted and signed). her, (yes, her) name is invincible. she's from detroit. her album is called 'shapeshifters' and it is outstanding. she uses a lot of really progressive rhyme construction and patters while still managing to have more content than most. i wouldn't say she's one of those concious mc's, party because the word concious has poor connotations nowadays. she kicks knowledge, that's for sure...but she's not preaching. it's an interesting mix of story telling and observational rhymes with a message.

here are 2 of her songs. the first is a video which was the first piece of music i'd ever heard from her. the 2nd is a song w/ no video. wow @ this second one. listened to it on repeat when i first got her record and lost track of how many times it replayed. it's only 2 verses, and some of the shit she says in there is ridiculous. i've heard tons of "america personified" songs in these past years, but somehow she takes a new angle on the subject and i can't get enough of it. "hurful abusive / blood curdles and oozes / under the surface of epidermis the purplest bruises /"...etc. wow. i'm lovin it, easily my fav mc of the moment.





if you like invincible, detroit has other ill mc's/producers you'd prolly like too. finale dropped a record last year that was really good. black milk's album tronic is phenomenal as well.
